As an artist and educator Adrian’s goal is to plant the seed of understanding and appreciation for the art form of dance. His artist-in-residence program engages students from a point they know, then takes them on a journey exploring other styles and teaching them the roots and foundation of dance forms. Terminology from modern, ballet and jazz is interwoven into each lesson and how it correlates to the hip-hop genre. Culminating each residency, students demonstrate performance skills which include technical proficiency, inner strength and self-esteem. His goal is simple - engage and inspire, by creating a knowledgeable dance audience by using hip-hop as the entry point. He teaches students from K-12 across all social and economic levels successfully developing their dance skills and social characteristics such as self esteem, responsibility, dedication and respect.
